This room is dedicated to William Montagu Scott McMurdo, the Scottish general who towards of the end of the 1870s built the villa and transformed a corner of Alassio Hill – once covered in olive and carob trees – into an elegant garden, rich in exotic fragranced plants.
The room, whose walls are adorned with several fine English watercolours depicting gardens and Mediterranean flora, faces northeast and offers a glimpse of Gallinara Island beyond the thick branches of the cypress trees.
