Welcome to the room dedicated to Daniel Hanbury, the businessman who was the third owner of Villa della Pergola since 1922.

Daniel was entrusted by his father Thomas with the real estate activities of Alassio, which contributed to its increasingly becoming a center of attraction for English holidays.

With his cousin Arthur he built the first power station in Alassio, then founded the Tennis Club and the British Club. An engineer and fascinated by speed, he owned the legendary Rolls-Royces Silver Ghost. He also had numerous boats: with his Miranda IV and Silver Heels hydroplanes he also often competed in the United States.

He also gave an extraordinary impetus to the development of the Park, transporting many tree species and exotic plants from the Mortola botanical garden.
