Welcome to the room dedicated to Henry Scott Tuke, famous English painter and portraitist, friend of Paul Laurens, John Singer Sargent and Oscar Wilde.

Protagonist of the English Impressionist school, he is mainly famous for his portraits of male nudes, but he was also an important artist of marine subjects: his boats and majestic sailing ships painted mainly in watercolor are memorable.

In the early twentieth century, Tuke used to spend long periods in Alassio, often a guest at the Villa della Pergola of his dear friend Sir Walter Hamilton-Dalrymple.

There are many of his paintings depicting Alassio and the Ligurian Riviera. The main collector of Henry Scott Tuke today is Sir Elton John.
