On World Oceans Day, hosted by Department of Oceans and laws of the sea of the United Nations, in partnership with Oceanic Global, we join hundreds of Relais & Châteaux properties and Ethic Ocean for a celebration of our oceans.

For this year’s theme of Revitalization, we are showcasing algae in a #SeaweedSymphony, raising awareness of the ways seaweed can help Revitalize The Ocean.
Not only is seaweed rich in nutrients, but it is also an important ally against climate change, able to sequester large quantities of carbon dioxide and create vast amounts of oxygen.

Samphire, or Salicornia Europaea is a plant found in the intertidal zone of beaches (the tidal zone) or marshes. In spring it forms its first branches and when mature it can reach 30 cm. The young shoots can be eaten raw!
